Thank you to all the parents and family that were able to make it to Open House on Tuesday! It was great seeing a lot of you and being able to discuss information about Kindergarten or any questions you had. Below is the link to the Kindergarten presentation that was given if you weren't able to make Open House or if you'd like to revisit it. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

We are kicking it in full gear in Room 205! We are busy identifying and forming letters, forming numbers and counting to 20, and learning how to be a good citizen. Identifying letters can be challenging (there are 26 uppercase and 26 lowercase= 52 LETTERS TO LEARN!) so please practice with your child at home. You wouldn't believe the difference in a student when there is an educational bridge from home to school. I have sent home handwriting packets. These will be due the following Monday every week. Practice forming the letters and also have your child identify the letter.
I also wanted to send a friendly reminder to bring a daily snack for your child. Please make sure this snack is healthy and low in sugar. We do not allow juice, milk, candies, gummies, or cookies for snack as this is high in sugar and often low in nutrition. Snacks are important for your child to remain alert and focused throughout the school day. If you need assistance getting snacks, please do not hesitate to contact me or our school counselor. As the weather is starting to get cooler in the early morning hours, please send your child with a light jacket or sweater. Our school often stays cool as well and students often as for jackets when they are sitting to work. Please label all outerwear with your child's first and last name! |
